Since 1989, the Center for English Language Education (CELE) has been dedicated to the research and teaching of the English language at Asia University (AU), located in Musashino-shi, Tokyo, Japan.

CELE was founded by former AU President Professor Shinkichi Eto. Professor Eto believed students' communicative ability in foreign languages was integral to their internationalization. He considered internationalism and multicultural awareness to be the most important aspect of an education at Asia University.
