Faculty of International Relations
In today’s society one needs to have not just a local but also an international perspective in problem-solving. This is especially evident from an economic standpoint as products and services are rapidly exchanged across borders. To live in this age, it is important to know about one’s own country and to understand world issues simultaneously.
The aim of the International Relations major is to have students study Japanese and world issues extensively and to produce academic research that focuses on international relations, particularly among Asian countries. The curriculum requires study from wide range of disciplines, such as Politics, Law, Economics, Society, Culture, International Cooperation and Exchange. Students majoring in International Relations are required to participate in a five-month study abroad program either in America (AUAP) or in China (Asia Yume College). In these programs, students can improve foreign language competencies and foster international relations skills in a practical manner. Also, students can deepen their knowledge by studying in a major related seminar with a small number of students.

Graduate

Graduate School of Asian and International Business Strategy
It is said that the 21st century is the Asian century, and the recent economic growth of Asian countries, especially that of China, is astonishing. The recent buyout of the personal computer business of a large American firm by a Chinese company is one demonstration of the present state of Chinese economic power. As business is growing more and more international, “global business” for Japan with respect to Asian countries, especially China, is gaining ever more importance. Given today’s needs, the Graduate School of Asian and International Business Strategy will produce specialists that have a truly global view and are familiar with business in Asian countries, especially in China. Students will gain a deep understanding of regional characteristics of Asian countries, learn professional knowledge and skills to use when creating management strategies, as well as cultivate management capabilities for wider-reaching issues such as the environment, industry, and technology.

Graduate School of Economics
There are eight fields of specialization: economic theory and econometrics, economic history, economic policy, fiscal science, financial theory, labor economics, international economics, and international relations. The school's priority is establishing a systematic program of economic research that meets the needs of today's fast-paced internationalization.

Graduate School of Law
The focus is on developing strategies to keep up with legal research and internationalization. Public, civil, and criminal law are among the fields covered. Practical legal knowledge is emphasized; prominent scholars from overseas universities and institutes are invited to lectures and study meetings, enabling students to benefit from the latest research. Graduates of the program have made their mark in academia, business, and public service fields.
