International Programs

Since its establishment, Asia University has aimed to educate its students to be capable of functioning in a global setting. As such, it has always kept up with the demands of internationalization by arranging academic exchanges with universities in other countries, accepting students from abroad, and setting up various overseas study programs.

America Program

- Asia University America Program (AUAP)

The AUAP is a unique study abroad program which emphasizes learning contemporary English, cross-cultural understanding and self-discovery. As students acquire English through their daily lives they gain an understanding of different cultures and customs, which leads them to reflect on their own culture, another attractive point of the program. Credits earned during the program are applicable to graduation and no leave of absence is required to study abroad. Safety measures are built-in to the program including access to an AUAP- exclusive 24-hour help line that can be used in case of accident or illness. In addition, all participants are covered by injury and damage insurance. Over 10, 000 students have participated in the program over the past twenty years. Many of these students are now successfully employed by their first-choice companies and are utilizing their AUAP experience in building for the future.

As a “university open to the world,” Asia University created AUGP, a study- abroad program designed for the education of international professionals and offered to both university and junior college students. Program sites include twelve countries: Australia, Canada, China, Great Britain, Indonesia, Ireland, Mongolia, Russia, South Korea and the United States. Each program lasts from four to seven weeks and provides the opportunity to study a different culture and language in a small class environment. Students are granted four credits, Study Abroad Practicum I-IV, for participating in the program.

Exchange Program

- Asia University Exchange Program (AUEP)

Various opportunities for study abroad are available in addition to the AUAP and AUGP. Asia University has exchange agreements with nineteen universities in twelve countries and regions the first of which was signed in 1958 with New Asia College, Chinese University of Hong Kong. Formal exchange programs where students exchange places with a student at an overseas institution or enroll directly in the institution are currently available with sixteen of the universities. Asia University also supports students who study abroad at their own expense at institutions with which an exchange agreement has not been formalized by accepting credits earned abroad and providing a system of on-going study to minimize their leave of absence. Furthermore, financial support and scholarships are available to assist students with personal expenses while abroad.
