Faculty overview

"City Science" We believe that it is "City Creation Science". The educational goal of Faculty of Urban Innovation is to think of ways to create cities with an unprecedented rich imagination and innovative approaches. For example, we will work to solve urban issues with multifaceted and advanced themes, such as improving transportation networks by making full use of “big data” and thinking about “contents” that enhance the ability of cities to transmit their culture. We consider society from the perspectives of business administration and urban sociology, establish a vision of a future city that brings vitality and comfort, and aim to develop practical human resources who will be responsible for its realization.

Dean of the Faculty of Urban Innovation
“Creating a city that makes people happy” is the educational philosophy of Faculty of Urban Innovation. There are many companies in Japan that continue their activities with the goal of making people happy. In many Asian countries, Japanese companies are building highways, digging subways, and making eco-friendly housing and lighting. Japan also excels in urban software that helps people and money flow, such as avoiding traffic jams and urban logistics planning. Faculty of Urban Innovation continues to produce human resources with the know-how to support such cities. Incorporating the actual international corporate activities is study abroad and work experience in six countries in Asia and the United States. Many students say that they are glad that they enrolled in the practical learning curriculum that anticipates social activities.
Here, we introduce an Instagram account created by the students to introduce the undergraduate school, a documentary about seminar activities, and an animation created by a cutting-edge animator that depicts the undergraduate studies and workplaces. I think you can feel the fun of Faculty of Urban Innovation. We hope to see you on campus!
