Master's course

Requirement for Completion of the Graduate School

Students must be enrolled for at least two years, complete at least 32 Credit, and pass Master’s Thesis review and examination. However, those who have achieved excellent results may be allowed to complete the course early. In addition, instead of Master’s Thesis, students may submit "results of research on a specific topic."
Course registrationOf the 32 Credit Requirement for Completion of the Graduate School 12 Credit (8 Credit for those who wish to complete early) are compulsory, and the rest are optional.

Required Subject
(1) 8 Credit for “Seminar” by academic Professor (taken in 1st and 2nd years; however, 4 Credit for those who wish to complete early)
(2) 4 Credit for “Lecture” by academic Professor

Elective Subject
(1) Earn at least 20 Credit from subjects other than “Seminar.”
(2) Up to 8 Credit of original text research will be included in Requirement for Completion of the Graduate School.
(3) Up to 8 Credit for Lecture offered by other research schools will be included in Requirement for Completion of the Graduate School.

Requirement for Completion of the Graduate School

Students in the doctoral program must be enrolled for at least 3 years, complete 12 Credit more credits, and pass Doctoral Dissertation review and examination.
However, those who have completed and entered a law Graduate School must have attended the school for at least two years, completed at least eight Credit in subjects, and passed Doctoral Dissertation review and examination.
Course registration (1) Take 4 Credit “special research” taught by your academic Professor each year, for a total of 12 Credit.
(2) It is desirable to take courses offered by the Graduate School of Law under the supervision of two co-Professor while in school.

Paper Evaluation Criteria

1. The setting of research theme is appropriate, and the intent and problem awareness of the thesis are clear.
2. Appropriate research methods should be adopted according to research theme.
3. Consistent logical structure from problem setting to conclusion.
4. Be original in the research area concerned.
5. The writing method of the thesis is appropriate.
(1) Court precedents, references, etc. must be cited clearly and appropriately.
(2) The analysis, introduction, and consideration of judicial precedents, reference materials, etc. must be written in the author's own words from the point of view of the author of the paper.
(3) A clear distinction should be made between the introduction of the contents of the references, etc., and the opinion of the author of the paper.
6. Comply with Master’s Thesis writing rules specified by research school.

Criteria for evaluating research results

5. Appropriate description of research results.

(3) A clear distinction should be made between the introduction of the contents of the reference documents and the opinion of the author research results.
6. Comply with the rules for producing research results specified by research school.
PhD degree Doctoral Dissertation Evaluation Criteria
1. research that the theme is appropriately set and that the intention and awareness of the issues involved in writing the paper are clear.
2. research that an appropriate research method is adopted for the theme.
3. The logical structure of the paper should be coherent from the problem setting to the conclusion. 4.

(1) Citation of precedents and references should be clear and appropriate.
(2) Analysis, introduction, and discussion of precedents and references should be written in the author's own words from the author's point of view.

6. In addition to satisfying 1 to 5 above, the paper should provide original and new knowledge in the research field by making full use of sufficient materials, references, etc. 7.
7. Doctoral Dissertation The content of the thesis must reach a level where the submitter is recognized as having a high research level of ability to work as an independent research person. 8.
