Based on its founding principles, Asia University has made it its mission to foster talented individuals who will contribute to society at large through education and research, with a focus on Japan and the Asian region. In order to continue to be a university that is respected by society, it is important for the university to establish its basic policies, improve and enrich its education and research, and demonstrate that it is a university with a meaningful existence in society.
With each member of the university sharing this basic policy, we will formulate medium- to long-term plans to work toward improving the quality of education research and improving operations from a medium- to long-term perspective.

We have been promoting the third five-year medium-term action plan for three years, starting in 2022. However, as circumstances both inside and outside the university have changed rapidly since the plan was first formulated, we will review part of the action plan from April 2025, the fourth year of the plan, with the aim of becoming a university of choice that responds to society's needs.

  • Penetration of Asian studies and sustainable development of international exchange
    We will revitalize exchanges with Asia, increase the number of classes related to Asia, encourage students to experience Asia, including sightseeing, while at school, and create a system that makes Asia feel closer to them.
  • Expanding education by opening new departments in response to social changes
    In anticipation of the progress of globalization, climate change, and the spread of diversity in society, we will establish departments and faculties that can respond to such changes. As the beginning of this, we aim to establish a department that can lead data science education with the emergence of Society 5.0 in mind.
  • Enhancing the development of independent learning ability
    Thorough basic education in writing skills, English proficiency, data analysis skills, and presentation skills is provided, and at the same time, students are nurtured to learn and act independently.

Every year, we will monitor the progress of implementation, evaluate and review the results (PDCA), and implement it while considering trends in educational policies and financial conditions.

Internationalization measures
  1. We will return the number of students who have actually studied abroad to the level of 2019 and further increase it. At the same time, we will provide a variety of international exchange opportunities such as online study abroad and English Cafe.
  2. Encourage experience in Asia (including tourism) and increase the number of students who experience it.
  3. We aim to increase the number of International Student from the Asian region.
  4. We support the study and job hunting activities of International Student, including ASEAN international International Student scholarship recipients, and widely publicize the activities of International Student both inside and outside the university.
Measures for education and research activities
  1. Encourage and support the increase of “interesting” and “useful” classes by individual faculties and departments.
  2. From a learner-oriented point of view, we will more clearly present the Diploma Policy to students and create a system that allows students to confirm their own learning achievements and learning characteristics.
  3. We will strengthen guidance so that all students can acquire the skills required in society to write documents, research methods, data analysis skills, and presentation and discussion techniques.
  4. Through repeated trial and error, we will build a best-mix class system that makes the most of the characteristics of both face-to-face classes and online classes.
  5. We will promote university-wide DX basic support that will lead to improved student satisfaction.
  6. We will promote preparations for the opening of the "Faculty of Faculty of Business Administration Department of Data Science" in April 2023, and establish a system in which all students can acquire basic knowledge in the field of data science with the new department at the core. *The department opened in April 2023.
  7. We will further encourage research activities, promote external disclosure, and aim to enhance internal sharing.
Learning environment and support measures
  1. We will reliably conduct surveys of graduating students, increase the response rate, and improve the learning environment.
  2. We will create a comfortable, convenient, and attractive campus with a staff system that is prompt and kind.
  3. We aim to further revitalize the activities of various on-campus student organizations (clubs and circles), including sports promotion organizations, and support all students so that they can lead fulfilling student lives.
Social cooperation measures
  1. Increase opportunities for students to interact with companies (working people) and local communities.
  2. For high school students, we will develop a project to deepen their understanding and interest in Asia.
  3. We will strengthen public relations (SNS, etc.) for graduates and expand opportunities to interact with current students.
  4. We will expand the publicity of research results and connect them to regional and social contributions.
University management policy
  1. While formulating a branding strategy to further enhance our university's features and strengths, we will consider future plans, including reorganization or establishment of undergraduate departments, and promote strategic public relations activities with clear targets. We aim to improve awareness and attract applicants.
  2. Based on the university evaluation (certification evaluation) results, we will work to resolve the issues pointed out, strive to comply with the "Japan Federation of Private Universities Private University Governance Code," make improvements as necessary, and publish the results. , we will build a governance system that supports the sustainable development of our university.
  3. We will carefully examine the contents of the "Three-Year Plan for Developing an ICT Educational Environment" and incorporate it into the Third Five-Year Medium-Term Action Plan to develop an ICT educational environment that will contribute to the development of human resources who can adapt to the digital transformation era. We will also promote improvements and efficiency in university administration by introducing an electronic approval system and going paperless in the storage of meeting materials, various application forms, and documents.
  4. By clarifying financial achievement indicators, etc., we will build a financial foundation that stably supports educational and research activities.
  5. By implementing practical training to acquire specialized knowledge and skills necessary for university management, we develop human resources who can respond to changes in the environment surrounding the university and promote reform and improvement of operations.
  6. In addition to systematically implementing the redevelopment of Hinode Campus and the repair and renovation of existing buildings, we will formulate a campus master plan for the future development of undeveloped areas on Musashino Campus.
  7. We will make an SDGs declaration during the 2022 fiscal year, promote and consolidate various educational and research activities and university management initiatives aimed at achieving the SDGs, and actively disseminate these efforts both inside and outside the university.
