Department of International Relations Seminar

Training to obtain information from English media
Students acquire study skills in the Spring Semester [Orientation Seminar], and in the Fall Semester [Fundamental Seminar], they learn about learning that is unique Department of International Relations. In a small group environment of about 15 people, you will learn how to search Library (Library Administration) documents, how to search the Internet, and how to handle statistical data. Students also take on the challenge of reading English newspapers and websites and presenting their content.

Specialized Seminar I・II

Each student belongs to a seminar led by a faculty member who specializes in an area of interest, sets their own theme within the scope of Faculty of International Relations, and conducts research on that theme.

Big events continue, including high-level IB intercollegiate competitions judged by members of international management societies, summer debates, and joint seminars with other universities in the fall. There are many open-minded students in my seminar who have high English proficiency and are interested in studying abroad, and we have fun working hard every day. Through a variety of experiences, you will gain collaborative skills, logical thinking skills, and greater self-confidence.

I received the best debater award at the 2021 IB Intercollegiate. Thinking that I would like to gain something by choosing a specialized seminar, I ran for the seminar leader. By repeating many presentations and discussions, I overcame my shyness and feel that my communication skills have improved significantly. My colleagues who worked hard together toward a big goal are my irreplaceable assets.
*Overseas training has been online for the past two years due to the corona crisis. Scheduled to resume in 2023.
