Learn language + culture
Choose from Korean, Chinese, Indonesian, Hindi, Arabic, and Japanese (only International Student) and learn along with the culture of the region.

Beginner's regional language
Intensive study of the regional language three times a week.

Intermediate regional language + 〇〇 society and culture
Beginning in the fall semester of the second year, students will begin taking regional language intermediate courses.
Attempts to learn about the world through "language" will lead to a deeper understanding of the society and culture of the people who use those "languages."

Regional language advanced + overseas experience
In the Advanced Regional Language course, you will study languages in a more specialized manner. During the summer vacation of the third and fourth years, students conduct a multicultural field study in Asia. You can also take language classes locally on a short-term study abroad program (AUGP) lasting from 2 to 4 weeks.

Multicultural Social Cooperation Area

Practical learning about multicultural coexistence
Students learn practically about multicultural coexistence through specialized subjects such as sociology, cultural anthropology, comparative religion theory, and diversity theory.

Students acquire the attitude to reconsider the norms of their own society, understand the background behind the creation of other seemingly different societies, and cultivate the imagination necessary for multicultural coexistence.

At the Multicultural Forum, through lectures by external Lecturer on multicultural coexistence, we will deepen our understanding of the various issues that arise as Japan forms or adapts to a multicultural society.

Students will understand the basic concept of fieldwork, acquire a theory of its legality, grasp a concrete image of fieldwork, and formulate a research plan on their own.

Tourism geography overview + Tourism culture overview
This course will explore the modernization and contemporaryization of Japan from the perspective of tourism, covering topics such as the introduction and development of modern tourism, the decline and revitalization of traditional hot spring resorts, the decline and revitalization of seaside tourist destinations, and the popularity of Showa retro style.

In this course, students learn how to promote local culture through planning and participating in a multicultural coexistence event. First, students will understand the various issues facing local communities in modern Japan, and plan a local revitalization event as one way to solve those issues. While actually creating exhibits, students will think about the content of a craft workshop using familiar materials and exhibit at a multicultural coexistence event in Musashino City.
