Eligibility

A person who has foreign nationality and meets any of the following conditions
*Note that all of the conditions in (Note 1) to (Note 3) must be met.
(1) Persons who have completed a 12-year course of schooling outside of Japan in a foreign country, and persons who are expected to complete it by March 31, 2027.
(2) Persons equivalent to those in (1) who have passed an academic proficiency test equivalent to the completion of a 12-year course in a foreign country, or who are expected to pass such a test by March 31, 2027, or who will reach the age of 18 by March 31, 2027.
(3) Persons equivalent to those in (1) who have completed a course of study at a school equivalent to a high school in a foreign country and have completed a preparatory education course (or course at a training facility) designated by the Minister of Education, Culture, Sports, Science and Technology of Japan, and persons who are expected to complete such a course by March 31, 2027.
(4) Persons equivalent to those in (1) who have completed a course of study at a foreign school corresponding to a high school designated by the Minister of Education, Culture, Sports, Science and Technology of Japan, and those who are expected to complete such a course by March 31, 2027.
(5) Persons who have obtained the International Baccalaureate, Abitur, Baccalaureate, or GCEA qualification, and persons who are expected to obtain it by March 31, 2027.
*This does not include those who have passed the High School Equivalency Examination administered by the Minister of Education, Culture, Sports, Science and Technology of Japan.
(Note 1) The period spent attending a primary or secondary school in Japan within the 12-year school education curriculum must be no more than two years in total, and the high school from which the student graduated must be a school located outside of Japan.
(Note 2) Never having been enrolled in a university or junior college in Japan (excluding Part-time Students, auditors, and special courses).
(Note 3) Within the 12-year curriculum of schooling, the total period spent attending a school within Japan that is part of an education system other than Japan's, in a course equivalent to Japan's primary and secondary education curriculum, must be no more than two years.
*However, for International Students Entrance Examination C, applicants must reside outside of Japan at the time of application.

November 5th (Thu) - November 11th (Wed), 2026 *Application documents must be postmarked by the deadline.

September 2nd (Wed) - September 11th (Fri), 2026 *Application documents must be postmarked by the deadline.

Admission procedure period

Method A (university entrance exam)

First stage of procedures: November 24th (Tue) - December 4th (Fri), 2026. Payment of entrance fee, mailing of enrollment documents, and registration of necessary information on "Ajibako".
Second Procedure: January 18th (Mon) - January 25th (Mon), 2027: Payment of tuition fees excluding the entrance fee.

Method B (EJU Entrance Examination)

One-time payment period: January 18th (Mon) - January 25th (Mon), 2027. Payment of all fees except the entrance fee.

Method C (Pre-arrival entrance exam)

One-stop application period: October 26th (Mon) - November 9th (Mon), 2026. This includes payment of tuition fees (including the entrance fee), mailing of enrollment documents, and registration of necessary information on "Ajibako".

Entrance examination requirements, etc.

The entrance examination guidelines for the 2027 academic year are scheduled to be released in early July.
