International Student Association Events
What is the International Student Association?
The International Student Association began in 1973 as a gathering of foreign students who were studying at Asia Educational Incorporative. The primary aim behind the establishment of the Association was: “To encourage the spirit of Self-help and Cooperation,” as well as “To deepen the understanding and friendship between the people of Asia and of Japan,” and “To thoroughly grasp the true purposes of Asia Educational Incorporative”. More specifically, international students plan and implement various activities that allow them to experience a fulfilling school life through cooperation with others.
The office of the International Student Association is located on the first floor of Asia Clubhouse 2.
Welcome Party for New International Students
The party is for all new international students who have been accepted at Asia University, and its purpose is to introduce students to each other, as well as to create a foundation for mutual friendship. It is also an opportunity for senior students to exchange information, and we encourage them to actively participate.
WE ARE THE WORLD International Party
Through preparing food and putting on acts from their own country, international students invite other students and local residents to share various cultures. Last year, all the students who were newly accepted from China and Malaysia were introduced in conjunction with the International Student Association, creating another opportunity to deepen ties between people. The party further promotes friendship, and has become a new tradition at Asia University.
International Student Speech Contest
A speech contest for international students, conducted in Japanese, commemorates the first President of Asia University, Kozo Ota. It is sponsored by the Mainichi Newspaper and Trust Cooperation, and winners receive awards as well as prize money for the top competitor.
