| Abstract of the lecture | As Japan’s population continues to age, sports are viewed as critically important from the perspectives of “extending healthy life expectancy,” “preventing the need for long-term care,” and “social participation,” and the range of related services is expanding. However, it has been pointed out that the rate of regular physical activity falls short of target levels, and that exercise frequency is polarized between those who “never exercise” and those who “exercise every day.” In this lecture, I will discuss the current state and challenges of sports services for older adults and provide tips on selecting services that encourage participation in sports. |
