Eligibility

Internal recommendation test

[For current students]
Fourth-year students taking the internal recommendation examination must meet all of the requirements 1 to 4 below.
If you are a transfer student, you must meet all the requirements in 5.
  1. Applicants must be enrolled in the fourth year Asia University and be expected to graduate.
  2. Earn at least 110 Credit out of the 124 Credit required Requirement for Graduation at the time of application.
  3. A GPA of 2.50 or higher at the end of either the third year or the spring semester of the fourth year.
  4. You must have an interview with your desired academic advisor before applying.
  5. Transfer students must meet all of the following requirements ① to ③.
    1. Be a fourth-year student enrolled at Asia University and expect to graduate.
    ② Students must have completed 36 or more Credit in their third year and have a GPA of 3.00 or higher at the end of their third year or at the end of the spring semester of their fourth year.
    ③You must have had an interview with your desired supervisor before applying.

[For graduates]
Graduates who take the internal recommendation entrance examination must meet all of the following requirements 1 to 3.
If you are a transfer student, you must meet all four requirements.
  1. Those graduating in April 2025.
  2. At the time of graduation, students must have a GPA of 2.50 or higher.
  3. You must have an interview with your desired academic advisor before applying.
  4. Transfer students must meet all of the following requirements ① to ③.
    1. Students graduating in March 2025.
    ②The GPA upon graduation Asia University must be 3.00 or higher.
    ③You must have had an interview with your desired supervisor before applying.
【Notes】
  • Applicants who do not major in Faculty of Economics are expected to acquire preliminary knowledge of economics before admission.
  • Transfer students must notify Admissions Center before applying.
  • In principle, those who have been enrolled for more than the standard term of study (repeating students) are not eligible to apply. However, if you are enrolled for more than the standard term of study for active reasons such as studying abroad, you may be eligible for application, so be sure to notify Admissions Center before applying.

General Examination

Those who have Japanese nationality (including those with "permanent resident" status) and fall under any of the following categories or will fall under any of the categories by the end of March 2026, and have taken the TOEFL®, TOEIC®, or GTEC exams or passed the EIKEN or Zensho English Exam.
  1. university graduates
  2. Those who have been awarded a Bachelor of Arts 's degree by the National Institution for Academic Degrees and Support for University Reform
  3. Those who have completed a 16-year course in foreign school education
  4. A person who has completed 16 years of school education in a foreign country by taking correspondence Subject offered by the foreign school in Japan.
  5. In Japan, education positioned in the foreign school education system as having a foreign university course (limited to those whose graduates are said to have completed 16 years of school education in the foreign country) Those who have completed a course at a facility designated separately by the Minister of Education, Culture, Sports, Science and Technology
  6. A person who has been awarded a degree equivalent to a Bachelor of Arts 's degree by completing a course of three years or more at a foreign university or other foreign school.
  7. A person who has completed a special course designated separately by the Minister of Education, Culture, Sports, Science and Technology on or after the date designated by the Minister of Education, Culture, Sports, Science and Technology in a specialized course at a specialized training college (limited to those that meet the standards set by the Minister of Education, Culture, Sports, Science and Technology and that the term of study is four years or more.)
  8. A person designated by the Minister of Education, Culture, Sports, Science and Technology
  9. Those who have been enrolled in a university for 3 years or more, or have completed a 15-year course, and have been recognized by the relevant research school committee as having acquired the Credit credits with excellent grades.
  10. Those who have reached the age of 22 and have been recognized by the relevant research school committee as having academic ability equal to or higher than that of university graduates through individual screening of eligibility for application.

Foreign International Student examination

Those who have a nationality other than Japanese (excluding those with a "permanent resident" status of residence), who meet any of the application qualifications for General Examination or who are expected to meet the qualifications by the end of March 2026, and who have taken The Japanese Language Proficiency Test (JLPT) Level 1 (N1)

Examination for Working People

Applicants who have Japanese nationality or have a nationality other than Japanese who have graduated from a Japanese university, meet the application requirements for General Examination, and have worked as a member of society (including housework) for more than two years (excluding the period spent studying at a vocational school, university, Graduate School, etc.). Applicants whose native language is not Japanese must have taken The Japanese Language Proficiency Test (JLPT) Level 1 (N1).
