Wind Orchestra Played in Beijing

The Wind Orchestra played at Peking University on August 29 as part of the “thousand student” exchange event hosted by the Embassy of the People’s Republic of China in Japan. The event was held to commemorate the 45th anniversary of the normalization of diplomatic ties between Japan and China, and a thousand students from Japanese and Chinese universities participated.
To prepare for the concert, the orchestra left Japan on August 25 and practiced on August 26 and 27 at Beijing Foreign Studies University (BFSU). On the morning of August 28, the members of the Orchestra and the students of BFSU held an exchange event, and the concert was held the next day.
On August 29, as part of an exchange event participated in by one thousand university students from Japan and China, the Orchestra entertained the audience by playing a heavy piece suitable for the ceremony, and light Latin pop music afterwards. The last piece played was “Jasmine,” a Chinese folk song. The university students participating in the event sang along, and the concert reached its finale as the audience came together as one.
