Concert by an Angklung Orchestra from Padjadjaran University
Thirty-one members of “Applause,” an angklung orchestra from Padjadjaran University in Indonesia, held a concert on September 27 on our campus. An angklung is an Indonesian musical instrument made of bamboo and is certified as a UNESCO Intangible Cultural Heritage.
During the first half of the concert, students played traditional Indonesian pieces using their angklungs while some sang and danced to the music. There was a big applause from the audience who enjoyed the tune of the angklungs, the bright smiles, and the heartfelt performance.
After the concert, some from the audience experienced playing simple tunes with the angklungs.
