International Students taking the Intensive Japanese Course Visit Sakurano Elementary School

Thirty-four international students taking the Intensive Japanese Course visited Sakurano Elementary School as part of the Japanese Affairs Course on October 12. After taking a class with elementary school children, international students participated in an exchange session. They answered various questions raised by schoolchildren with a deep interest in different cultures, such as, “What is your favorite food from your country?” and “What games did you play in when you were a child?” They also experienced Japanese culture, such as Kendama (a traditional cup-and-ball game) and Japanese calligraphy, together with schoolchildren. When the international students said a few words of farewell, some of them received hand-made karuta (Japanese playing cards) and origami paper folding art as a souvenir and said, “Talking a lot with students in the class was really fun.”
