Junior Ambassadors from Lubbock City Visited Asia University
On June 7, a group of 16 junior ambassadors and five city council members from Lubbock City, Texas, U.S.A visited Asia University. The event is part of a program run biennially by Musashino and Lubbock City to allow American students to experience Japanese culture through interactions with our students. After a brief introduction to Asia University, the group took a Japanese language class, practicing simple greetings such as “Konnichi wa (Hello)” and “Dozo Yoroshiku (Nice to meet you)” together with our students in the Intensive Japanese Course. They also experienced Kendo, instructed by members of the Kendo Club. It was their first time seeing the kendo uniforms and bamboo swords, and everyone was very keen to give it a go.
