Business Etiquette Seminar for International Students

On December 20, a business etiquette seminar was held on campus for international students enrolled in the University, hosted by the Faculty of Business Administration. An outside lecturer was invited to speak at the seminar, which attracted a total of 21 people including both undergraduate and postgraduate students.
During the seminar, the international students received practical guidance on core importance of Japanese business etiquette that is considered necessary when looking for a job in Japan, such as posture and way of speaking, as they have a significant impact on interviewee’s first impression. The lecturer emphasized that, by remembering and practicing business etiquette, one can dramatically change his or her impression given to others. A participating student said, “I came to understand the importance of being more aware of how I look to others.”
