Speech Contest Held for International Students
On December 5, the Kozo Ota International Speech Contest was held on campus with first prize going to Daniella Gatdula from the Philippines.
The general theme was “Japan and I”. Ms. Gatdula chose to speak on the “Red String of Fate Connecting Japan and I”. She made a speech on how she became interested in Japan and why she decided to study in Japan as an international student. She also shared about how her parents encouraged her as she struggled to get used to Japanese culture and customs.
The speech contest, hosted by the International Student Association, featured 10 international student participants from China, Malaysia, Vietnam, and the Philippines.
