: 【Abstract】
This paper introduces the standard Cournot duopoly model facing theasymmetric situation in which firm 1 has partial information and firm 2has perfect information on the cost function of its rival under different risk-taking behaviors.

This paper presents two types of the firms' risk-taking behaviors to analyze the asymmetric situation. First, when both firms are risk neutral, compared with the results that each firm has perfect information on the cost function of its rival, the optimal output level of firm 2 does not change but firm 1's optimal output level increases or decreases. Second, we consider that firm 1 is risk averse and firm 2 is risk neutral.

Comparing with the results that both firms are risk neutral, we find that firm 1's optimal output level decreases but the optimal output level of firm 2 increases under this kind of asymmetric information and that firms' optimal output strategies depend on their risk-taking behaviors.
