Diversity initiatives
Based on the founding spirit of "the spirit of Self-help and Cooperation," Asia University University has had the philosophy of "nurturing human International Student who will contribute to the rise of Asia" since its founding, and has been actively accepting international International Student, including being the first private university in Japan to accept more than 90 international students at one time since the war. In addition, with the aim of ensuring equal educational opportunities for all students, we have established Special Needs Student Support Office so that each student can progress smoothly in their studies, and we are creating a university community that protects the human rights and freedom of each of our diverse students and faculty members from Japan and abroad, and recognizes each individual's individuality. We will continue to promote diversity so that all people, regardless of gender, nationality, race, ethnicity, culture, religion, disability, age, etc., can fully demonstrate their individuality and abilities, with their human rights, dignity, diverse values and ways of life respected.

Asia University University, as an organization made up of members with diverse backgrounds, has established the following basic policy to promote diversity.- We aim to create a community where all members can learn, work, and fully develop and utilize their abilities while respecting the individuality of each other.
- We ask all members to understand the importance of promoting diversity and strive to foster an awareness of recognizing and respecting the differences between individuals.
- We will provide an appropriate environment for all members to maximize their individuality and capabilities. We will also develop a support system for members who require reasonable accommodation.
Status of diversity initiatives
Learning support for students with disabilities
Our university aims to guarantee equal educational opportunities for all students, and based on the "Regulations for Supporting Students with Disabilities," we have established the "Basic Policy on Supporting Students with Disabilities" and the "Guidelines for Supporting Students with Disabilities," and provide support to ensure that each student can progress smoothly in their studies.- Special Needs Student Support Office will provide consultation for those who require support.
- Relevant departments provide support depending on the content, such as assistance with classes, exams, course registration, student life, and job hunting.
- We are improving facilities to support learning for people with disabilities, such as installing wheelchair-accessible elevators and toilets, automatic doors and ramps.
- The Hinode Campus also has wheelchair-accessible toilets and is contributing to the promotion of sports for people with disabilities, such as by hosting wheelchair tennis seminars.
multiculturalism
- We have a prayer room that is not limited to a specific religion or sect.
- We have a specialized department that provides support for international International Student in all aspects of their study abroad International Student life, and job hunting.
- We have set up a department to support foreign faculty members, and we also have staff in charge of each language to support foreign faculty members.
- We operate an organization that promotes international exchange through collaboration between International Student and Japanese students, and we plan and hold events that are open not only to students and faculty of our university, but also to local residents, contributing to the promotion of intercultural understanding both on and off campus.
Gender Equality
- Our university encourages faculty and staff to take childcare leave, nursing care leave, and short-time work systems to help them balance their work and life events.
- We will strive to recruit and develop excellent faculty and staff, regardless of gender, and build a university organization in which all members can demonstrate their abilities.
Harassment Prevention
- In order to maintain a comfortable education, research, learning and working environment, our university has established "Rules for the Prevention of Harassment, etc." To ensure that these are properly understood, we have established and are implementing "Harassment Prevention Guidelines."
- To raise awareness about harassment, we conduct training for faculty and staff every year.
Whistleblowing
- In accordance with the Whistleblower Protection Act, our university has established the "Asia Educational Incorporative Whistleblowing Regulations" and has set up an on-campus hotline for reporting and consultation.
