sports promotion fund

sports promotion fund

Since its founding, our university has encouraged extracurricular activities as a place to put our founding principle of "the spirit of Self-help and Cooperation" into practice. Currently, 29 athletic clubs are affiliated with the university, and they are constantly training and striving for self-improvement. In particular, the success of our athletic clubs, represented by (Hardball) Baseball Club and Track and Field Club, has strengthened students' sense of belonging to the university and has been a driving force in fostering a positive school culture. This positive school culture has been passed down to many alumni who are active throughout the country, nurturing the "bonds" among alumni and greatly contributing to the various activities of Alumni Association, Seiseikai. Furthermore, we are truly grateful for the warm support we receive from many fans of our athletic clubs who are moved by the earnestness of our students, not just alumni.

Our university is committed to continuing to support our athletic clubs and is working diligently every day to reform and improve our practices. However, the environment surrounding universities is becoming increasingly challenging year by year, and the reality is that funding for sports activities is not always abundant.

Therefore, in order to further promote student sports and enhance the positive atmosphere of our university, we would like to request the support of all concerned parties.

In the spring semester of 2023, I participated in the six-month American study abroad program AUAP and studied abroad at Central Washington University. I am quite shy, so at first I had a hard time talking to local university students. However, I was able to receive a scholarship, and I used it to participate in various activities during my study abroad. Then, I gradually became able to proactively greet people I met for the first time, and I feel that I have acquired communication skills and initiative.
I would like to further hone the English skills I have developed through studying abroad and aim to obtain qualifications in the future.

I work (Hardball) Baseball Club, my studies, and life in the dormitory.
The sports promotion funds we received last year were used to purchase baseball equipment such as batting gloves and for travel expenses to local areas. All members of the team participated in the opening game of the 2023 Toho University Baseball Autumn League, held in Matsuyama City, Ehime Prefecture, and were able to fight in a different atmosphere of tension than at Meiji Jingu Baseball Stadium.
All members of the club will work hard to pass on (Hardball) Baseball Club 's glorious history as a fine tradition to the next generation and to create a new Asia University (Hardball) Baseball Club is uniquely our own.

I took classes and seminars with an interest in "multicultural coexistence." In the summer of Sophomore, I conducted fieldwork in Kanazawa City, Ishikawa Prefecture. I interviewed government offices and mosques, and was able to gain a deeper understanding and deepen my thoughts about multicultural coexistence in Japan. In September 2023, I also visited Tokyu Corporation, a company that supports the scholarship, and was able to express my gratitude to them in person, as well as hear from the CEOs of major companies, which was a valuable experience.
I would like to make the most of this opportunity to study in Japan made possible by the scholarship, study hard, and experience as much Japanese life and culture as possible.

In the spring semester of 2024, I participated in the six-month American study abroad program AUAP and studied abroad at Central Washington University.
During my time abroad, I used my scholarship to take on various challenges, such as participating in local community activities such as cleaning up the area, exhibiting my paintings at a local gallery, and traveling alone. In addition to making local friends, I also made an effort to converse in English with Japanese students to improve my language skills, and received the highest marks in my classes.
I plan to continue studying with the aim of finding employment at an overseas company.
We appreciate your continued support for students who are about to study abroad.

The women's Track and Field Club had just been established. I joined because I was attracted by the bright and cheerful atmosphere.
We worked hard with the goal of participating in the two major national relay races (All-Japan University Women's Ekiden and Mt. Fuji Women's Ekiden), and achieved our goals both as a club and as individuals.
In 2024, the team was disappointed to miss out on a spot in the All-Japan University Women's Ekiden, but they used this as motivation to practice harder, which led to their best ever result of 10th place in the Mount Fuji Women's Ekiden.
The donations we received will be used for travel expenses, trainer expenses, etc., and will help us achieve our goal. We will work hard as a team, aiming to improve our ranking in each tournament.

International Student at Asia University was a major turning point in my life.
During my time at the university, I served as vice Executive chair, Board of Directors of International Student student group and planned an exchange event between International Student and Japanese students. I worked hard to prepare for the event to go smoothly, coordinating with the relevant parties, dividing up roles, setting up the venue, and also handled crisis management for any problems that may have arisen on-site. I learned a lot from these experiences, including teamwork and problem-solving skills.
Without the scholarship, I would not have been able to have this experience. After graduation, I will work in the hotel industry. Using my experience at Asia University as a foundation, I aim to be someone who can connect people across countries and cultures.

I'm dedicated to learning English every day because I believe that being able to speak English will broaden my horizons.
In particular, the "English Cafe," which I have been participating in since my first year, is an indispensable learning environment for me. It is the best opportunity for output, where I can converse on free topics, and at the same time, it is a place where I can meet like-minded peers. It is a great joy to be in an environment where we can all feel each other growing.
I would like to express my sincere gratitude for your support, which has made it possible to provide such high-quality learning opportunities.

As a member of the first cohort of the AUKP, a six-month study abroad program to South Korea that began in 2025, I studied at Kyung Hee University during the spring semester of 2025.
To truly master Korean, I made a conscious effort to actively use the language in my daily life during my study abroad. I made sure to review the expressions I learned in class on the same day and use them immediately in actual conversations. It was difficult at first, but by continuing to practice, I was able to communicate with confidence.
I made good use of the scholarships I received from everyone to cover my living expenses while I was there. I am truly grateful for the valuable experience I gained.
Going forward, I will set my sights on passing the TOPIK Level 6 exam and dedicate myself to further learning.

Since enrolling in university, I have dedicated myself to daily training with the goal of improving my athletic performance, and I have been fortunate enough to have the opportunity to participate in international tournaments as a member of the Japanese national deaf football team. The experience of honing my communication and situational awareness skills while being deaf, and balancing university studies with national team activities, is a great asset to me.
Thanks to the wonderful environment at the Hinode Campus, I was able to focus on improving my skills and physical condition. I deeply realize that this was only possible because of the warm support of our donors, and I express my heartfelt gratitude.
After graduation, I will continue competing and aim to become an athlete who can inspire many people, regardless of whether they have a disability or not, by achieving results on the world stage.

I decided to study in Japan and enroll in this university because I wanted to further improve my Japanese language skills.
Currently, I belong to a seminar on urban development, where I am learning methods for solving local issues through the power of design. In addition, as an extracurricular activity, I am also in charge of an English conversation club, working to create an environment where International Student and Japanese students can enjoy interacting in English.
I am deeply grateful to all the donors for their warm support, which has allowed me to enjoy such fulfilling days.
In the future, I will strive even harder to become a person who can contribute to society by utilizing my expertise in urban planning and construction in Japan.

With the desire to support the dreams of International Student, we named our scholarship "YUME Scholarship" and are providing support to two students.
I had the opportunity to speak with both of them at an annual get-together for donors and International Student, and to learn about their experiences in their home countries, their studies, and their daily lives.
It is a great pleasure to be able to witness the students' hard work firsthand.
I was impressed by how energetic and proactively they spoke.
