How to choose a study abroad destination

The selection of study abroad destinations begins before enrollment. Students collect information individually while referring to the materials, and select the desired study abroad destination based on the industry and occupation they want to pursue in the future.

Advance preparation in Japan

After enrolling, students decide where to study, and learn English and the official language of the host country. In addition, we conduct etiquette training and surveys on the business environment of study abroad destinations and companies where students have work experience. In preparation for work experience, students will discuss individual issues and goals with faculty members and set them.

*Each study abroad program/overseas training system may be canceled or part of the program may be canceled due to the international situation, natural disasters, local circumstances including sudden incidents/accidents, cooperation relationships with the host university/trainee, and readiness for acceptance. As a preliminary preparation, we set up [Fundamental Seminars I and II] and [Work Experience Seminar I] in the spring semester of the second year after enrollment. Since each seminar is assigned by the study abroad destination, it is also possible to deepen the bond between students here. Through interviews with working adults who have close ties to the study abroad destination, summarizing articles, and giving presentations, students will learn how to study at university and deepen their knowledge of the local area.

Overseas work experience (Indonesia)
In Indonesia, in addition to training at cooperating companies, educational institutions and NGOs also provide unique training. We co-sponsored "Japanese Week," an event introducing the Japanese language and culture at Mitra Industri High School located in the MM2100 industrial park, where many Japanese companies reside.
After returning to Japan
Present what you have learned
Summarize and present the results of your study abroad and work experience. At some of our partner universities, students give presentations in English or the local language, which is a great opportunity to demonstrate the language skills they have acquired.

Becoming a world-class business person
In Department of Urban Innovation, study abroad and overseas work experience are compulsory subjects. Before traveling to Japan, students undergo language education for a year and a half to become trilingual in English and the local language of the study abroad destination. In the field, you will learn realistically about Asian cities that drive the world economy. The companies and organizations where the experience is held are individually selected by the faculty, so you can travel with peace of mind.

Work experience during COVID-19
In collaboration with overseas branches of H.I.S. Co., Ltd. (HIS), we provide work experience that connects you online with local staff. The tours planned by the students have been commercialized, and I have refined skills that will be useful in the future, such as planning ability and proactiveness.
