Birth of AUAP!

AUAP⑥
In 1987, the university's President at the time, Dr. Shinkichi Eto, proposed the possibility of establishing an overseas branch, and consideration for the introduction of AUAP began. This is a completely new program with no precedent in the country, and the road to its introduction was by no means smooth and involved repeated trial and error. AUAP, which finally took off as a pilot program in 1988, had 6,119 students participate in the 10 years until 1998, and students were able to experience different cultures at a rate approximately 60 times faster than the traditional "exchange and dispatch International Student system." have been produced in society. Since then, the program has continued to grow, with over 14,000 participants to date. In fact, approximately one in eight graduates has experienced AUAP, an astonishing number.
