Even those who are not confident in English can study abroad

As a general rule, anyone who wishes to participate can participate as long as there are no problems with school attendance or health. However, depending on the department, participation conditions are set, so be sure to check.
Even if you study abroad for 5 months, you can graduate in 4 years

By taking high-quality classes taught by native English teachers and experiencing daily life in an English-speaking country, you can learn English in a natural way. You can earn up to 20 Credit at your study abroad destination, so you can graduate from university in four years without having to take a leave of absence.
Thorough support by local staff

Experienced local staff will advise AUAP students on their studies and daily life, and American assistant students will support life during study abroad from a student's perspective.

Improve your TOEIC® score by 100 points or more

TOEIC® is administered before departure and upon return to objectively grasp the improvement of English proficiency. You can steadily acquire English proficiency by coming into contact with native English. There is also a system that provides scholarships to students with high TOEIC® scores.
Living in a student dormitory with local students

In the dormitory at your study abroad destination, you basically live with a local student in a room with two people (sometimes three or four people share a room). You can hone your conversational skills by living with friends of the same generation.

● Global Human Resource Development Course (Washington 3 Universities)
This is a program to study abroad at three universities in Washington state (CWU, EWU, WWU) with the aim of "acquisition of real English", "understanding of different cultures", and "new self-discovery". A major feature is the generous support system by dedicated staff.Dormitory life with roommates

You will live in a double room with an American student or an international International Student from another country (in principle). By communicating in English on a daily basis, you will acquire practical conversation skills.
Cultural exchange activities where you can practice English conversation

Through volunteer work at facilities for the elderly, events introducing Japanese culture, and elementary school visits, students learn the importance of diversity and cross-cultural understanding.
Classes are organized according to language ability

At CWU and EWU, students study in original classes for students who have no experience studying abroad. They can practice pronunciation and conversation with American Assistant Students (IPA) and local students studying in teacher training programs.
WWU is a class for students whose native language is not English, where they study with International Student from all over the world. They acquire the "Academic English" necessary for entering university or Graduate School.

Activities that lead to future careers

Visits to local companies and institutions, as well as classes and activities such as mock interviews and poster sessions in English. It will be an opportunity to deepen your understanding of the type of work and overseas work, and to draw your own career.
● Intensive English Course (ESL4 University)
*This program is available to students enrolled up until 2024, and will be suspended thereafter.
At the language school attached to the host university, students study in ability-based classes designed for International Student whose native language is not English. Since there is no dedicated staff or individual support, and you will be staying in a homestay, you will be required to be independent, and participation requires a high level of language skills and problem-solving skills. Therefore, participation is decided after selection.Experience real life in a homestay

Homestay with a regular family and experience the real life in America. You can learn English that is used in daily life and other cultures.
ESL to learn English with international International Student from all over the world*

This is a language class for students whose native language is not English. Students study together with international International Student from all over the world in classes that match their level. You can also take classes that lead to TOEFL® preparation and special classes for advanced students (also available in the Global Human Resource Development Course).
