A short-term study abroad program held during summer and spring holidays with the aim of improving language skills and understanding different cultures.
A chance to enjoy a long vacation like never before!
Participation is open to students of all faculties and academic years, and you can choose from 18 study abroad destinations across 16 countries and regions, based on your interests in terms of region and language.
3 styles to suit your purpose
language intensive class

On-site classes are offered in two formats: the "International Class" format, where students take language courses at the host university's existing language programs, divided by level, alongside regular international International Student; and the "Special Class" format, where AUGP participants from our university are exclusively placed in separate classes for language training.

This 4-week internship offers you the opportunity to experience various business settings, including cafes, hotels, travel agencies, cruise ships, trading companies, law firms, and event planning companies. It's a chance to test your language skills and further develop practical foreign language abilities.

This is a program to think about what a sustainable society is by conducting interviews with companies and organizations and actually participating in activities. We will deepen our thoughts on themes unique to the environmental city of Portland, such as "creating a livable city" and SDGs.

3 weeks to 2 months "Credit recognition type" short-term study abroad

AUGP conducts its training during the summer and spring breaks, allowing students to participate without disrupting their undergraduate spring and fall semester classes.
If a student of this university achieves the required grades in the AUGP program, they will be awarded 2 to 4 Credit depending on the program they participate in.
*The number of Credit awarded varies depending on the program you participate in, so please refer to the "Course Registration Guide" for details.

You can participate regardless of your department or year.

Students from all faculties, from first to fourth year, who are currently studying or have already studied the language of their study abroad destination, can participate regardless of their faculty or year of study.
Because you can decide the timing of your study abroad experience to align with your four-year study plan, there are various ways to participate that suit your study abroad goals.
Please note that fourth-year students cannot participate in programs held during the semester in the month of their expected graduation, as these programs are related to Requirement for Graduation.

AUGP Participation Case
AUGP allows students to freely choose when to participate, according to their individual four-year learning plan and their interests at any given time.
Plan B: Participate in AUGP as a preparatory step before participating in AUAP, AUASP, and AUKP.
Plan C: After participating in AUAP, AUASP, and AUKP, take the next step by participating in AUGP.
Plan D: Participate in AUGP as a stepping stone before applying for the AUEP (Academic Exchange Program).
Plan E: Make full use of the study abroad program!
*In addition to the above, it is possible to create various study abroad plans tailored to your specific goals.
*For AUGP, training sessions begin approximately three months before departure. Therefore, it is not possible to participate in AUAP, AUASP, AUKP, or the spring or summer programs immediately following your return from AUCP.

You can participate as many times as you like during your studies. However, a maximum Credit Credit be counted as Requirement for Graduation.

Study with local students and International Student from other countries

International Student from English-speaking countries (Ireland, the United States, the United Kingdom, Australia, New Zealand, Malaysia, Vietnam), China, Taiwan, Korea, Spain, Germany, France, and Russia study the language of their host country together with students from other countries in classes suited to their language level. The Korean program also offers a "Toumi system" where students study together with local students.
You can take a level check test after you arrive at the destination or before you depart, and then study in a class that suits your language ability, from beginner to advanced. This is why it is recommended not only for first-time students, but also for those who have experienced other study abroad programs and want to take their skills to the next level.
