Graduation Accreditation and Degree Conferment Policy (Diploma Policy)

Asia University (hereafter referred to as "our university") has an educational philosophy of "Challenging diverse dreams and cultivating human resources who will leap into the future of Asia", and the "Basic Education Policy" (*) that embodies this philosophy. Based on this, students will master the school's founding spirit of "the spirit of Self-help and Cooperation," complete the degree programs of each undergraduate school, obtain Credit required for graduation based on strict grade evaluations, and develop their own "personal value." A degree is awarded to students who have acquired the ability to:
 
  1. Acquire a wide range of education and advanced specialized knowledge and skills, and be able to use them flexibly.
  2. Understand the world's cultures from a global perspective and respect their diversity.
  3. Actively contribute to the formation of a better society by cooperating with others.
  4. You can set goals, shape your own career, and maintain a lifelong learning attitude.
 
*The “basic policy of education” consists of three things: “cultivation of capable human resources who can contribute to the international community”, “humanity-oriented education”, and “development of creative human resources who will create a new society”.

Curriculum Formulation and Implementation Policy (Curriculum Policy)

Our university systematically organizes the following subjects in order to help students acquire the knowledge, skills, and attitudes listed in the Diploma Policy, and provides education that encourages students to study independently.

<Education content>
  1. A variety of university-wide common education subjects are offered so that students can acquire a wide range of knowledge.
  2. In order to enable students to acquire advanced specialized knowledge and skills, we will appropriately arrange subjects based on the specialized field system of each faculty/department.
  3. In order to understand the world's cultures and their diversity, we provide opportunities to learn various languages and study abroad.
  4. Incorporate interactive education in small groups and active learning to provide opportunities to actively collaborate with others.
  5. We provide opportunities to gain experience in working in society, including career courses and internship opportunities at home and abroad.
 
<Education method>
  1. Devise an educational method that encourages independent learning by students.
  2. In addition to the compulsory orientation Seminar for the first year, various liberal arts Seminar and specialized Seminar are provided to provide opportunities to take courses in small groups.
  3. First-year education is provided to enable students to utilize university education on their own, including the history of their own school.
  4. The compulsory English course is arranged five days a week for practical English education taught mainly by native English teachers.
  5. We offer a variety of educational programs to acquire skills for career development.
  6. Develop educational programs that utilize local (extra-university) educational resources.

Policy for Accepting New Students (Admission Policy)

In order to develop human resources with the knowledge, skills, and attitudes described in our Diploma Policy, we expect the following people from Japan and abroad to enter our university. In particular, we are looking for people who sympathize with the university's educational philosophy of "Challenging diverse dreams and nurturing human resources who will leap into the future of Asia" and who have the desire to learn the founding spirit of "the spirit of Self-help and Cooperation" welcome.
To that end, each faculty and department implements a variety of selection methods and conducts multifaceted and comprehensive evaluations.
 
  1. Acquire basic knowledge and skills in the high school curriculum so that you can understand the educational content of your desired department.
  2. From the social phenomena surrounding us, we can discover problems by ourselves, think for ourselves, make judgments for ourselves, and give explanations.
  3. Have a clear sense of purpose and desire to improve their skills and careers during the four years they study at the university.
  4. Interested in diverse societies and cultures, willingness to cooperate with people with diverse values, and flexibility to listen to different opinions.
  5. Willingness to utilize the knowledge, skills, attitudes, and experiences learned at university for the benefit of society.
